Inspectors recently rated us as a good college, with inspiring accommodation and high success rates. We have national awards in many of our areas and we are specialists in health and social care and design and the creative industries. Amongst our many strengths is our growing expertise in the climate change agenda with a wealth of knowledge and skills for businesses and the community in sustainable development. Part of this is our extensive experience of and professional programmes for sustainable construction and a growing strength of the College is our response to new technologies which span many business sectors.
We pride ourselves on being a progressive college which brings out the best in all our students. Whatever their choice of study, each student is given full support to achieve their ambitions and aspirations.
Our courses cover many levels, and we have a strong higher education portfolio with degree courses in a great number of many areas. We are delighted that our students stay with us from further to higher education, and return again to develop their professional skills when they enter employment. It is our aim to strengthen our higher education routes for all our learners through the development of the Somerset Universities Partnership and to extend the distance learning opportunities to those who are unable to access the College’s premises.
Our contact and work with employers is extensive and we aim to be the training provider of choice for young people, adults and employers in Somerset. We want our students to achieve the highest standards set for their chosen sector of industry, so that they can begin their careers with confidence knowing that they have been trained in the most advanced business methods and technology.
Also on our campus are the Genesis Centre, the Hot House incubation units and the Taunton Conference Centre which together with our extensive range of courses for business from the Business Training area of the College.
