After getting all of this years events out of the way, phew, I am now working on the planning of the Autumn/Winter term ones. As well as gearing up for the Spring Summer term events - it is never ending but always great fun.
As the events officer at the college, my role is divided into managing events for Higher and Further education, as well as helping with some of the Business events and contributing to other events. I plan all of these and ensure that they run smoothly and are a success for the college.
I have a great deal of variety as I get to work on Information evenings, Open days, taster workshops, launches, award ceremonies, UCAS fairs and so much more. I am always busy as I deal with the administration side so I get to send out all the invites and relevant literature as well as working with the Media Resources team to design the programmes, running orders, signage, campus maps and anything that is needed for that event.
I am currently working on the launch for the new Graduate salon so I have been busy sorting out the staging for the catwalk show, working with the Francesco's team who are in partenrship with us on the salon, sending out the all important invites, sorting the catering and the general running and managment of the event. As well as this event, I am working on three consecutive part time information evenings, the planning is underway for the HE Open Day and for the very important Higher Education Graduation Ceremony. Oh yes, I also have to work on the taster workshops, the Further Education Information evening as well as external events. September, October and November are going to be extremely busy and before I know it, it will be Christmas, yey!
Make sure you keep a close eye on the events section of the website, it will help you to see what is,and will be, taking place at the college over the coming year, hopefulluy I will see you there.
