It is just like London buses, first there was no-one at the College, and then more staff start to turn up.
Following a relatively quiet summer at College, where staff and students seemed to dissappear, the place is now a hive of activity.
This week, brown and not so brown staff came back from their holidays and are gearing up for the influx of new students and welcoming back returning students. We are in the middle of a two day staff development programme, just like inset days when I was a lad!
This year we will enrol more than 3,000 further, higher and part time students. The whole process has been planned down to the n'th degree to ensure everything runs smoothly and new students instantly feel at home. Starting college, or a university level course far away from home, is a daunting experience, but students will be made welcome as soon as they step through the doors and into the Atrium.
The College has taken on a whole new feel with more staff in the corridors and offices full of people.
The place is buzzing with anticipation of the impending Start of Year and the new students.
