What can I say about my Student Ambassadors...
Ermmm, I could not do my job without them.
Let me tell you what a Student Ambassador is so you know what I am blogging about.
An Ambassador is a student representative for the college. I use Ambassadors to help with college events, focus groups, even interviewing members of the Executive team.
Ambassadors can be any age, from further or higher education, and any shape or size.
I recruit Ambassadors during September, but I am always on the look out for potential Ambassadors throughout the year as I can never have too many.
I rely upon my Ambassadors to help attract potential new students to the college. For example at an Information Evening, there is no better way to find out what it is like to be a student from a current student. Ambassadors help to sell the fun part of the college, not just the academic side.
Several of my Ambassadors love to talk, a lot. They speak to new students and put them at ease. Parents like this as well as it shows that we care about our potential new students.
My Ambassadors are also booked by other staff members within the college when they need them for their own events. They are paid for the event and are provided with a light blue rugby shirt which I always struggle to get back off them.
Ambassadors are great, as they benefit the College. But it is so beneficial for the Ambassador as well as it looks good on their cv, proves they are proactive and confident and they get to work with me, what could be better!!
