Who is this course for?

Bricklayers don't just build and repair walls, they work with many different materials and tools, using various techniques, to produce creative structures and buildings suitable for a specific purpose that will be admired for years to come.

To be a bricklayer you will need to be practical, able to work at heights and enjoy working outdoors.

Description

The Level 1 Construction Diploma will prepare you to enter the industry in your chosen craft.  It will give you the underpinning knowledge required to develop essential skills including basic blocklaying, bricklaying and cavity walling.

To be a qualified tradesperson you will need to complete the NVQ Level 2 and 3 in your chosen trade. The NVQ is a work-orientated qualification which requires you to build a portfolio of evidence, helping you to find suitable employment in a related role.

If you are under 23 years and have relevant employment, you could follow the apprenticeship route - please see the appropriate course listing for more information.
