Who is this course for?

Bricklayers don't just build and repair walls, they work with many different materials and tools, using various techniques, to produce creative structures and buildings suitable for a specific purpose that will be admired for years to come.

 

To be a bricklayer you will need to be practical, able to work at heights and enjoy working outdoors.

Description

Ideal as an introduction for those planning brickwork projects at home or simply learning a new skill.  This course introduces you to the basic practical skills required in the brickwork trade.

Teaching and Assessment

Teaching has an emphasis on 'learning by doing'.  During the course you will study a range of methods developing your knowledge and skills.

 

Methods include:

  • Laying bricks to a line
  • Building corners
  • General cavity walling using bricks and and blocks

Career Opportunities

Career opportunities and progression include:

  • Construction Diploma Level 1, 2 and 3
  • NVQ Level 2 and 3
  • Apprenticeship
  • Bricklayer (employed or self employed)
  • Team Leader/Supervisor

There are no entry requirements.

Costs

Tuition Fees: £250

 

You will need steel toe capped safety boots or shoes to do this course.
