Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at anyone thinking of moving into the construction industry as a carpenter and joiner and wanting to see what sort of things they may be involved in.

Description

Ideal as an introduction for those planning carpentry/furniture making projects at home or learning a new skill.  This course introduces you to the basic practical skills required in the wood occupations trade.

Teaching and Assessment

Teaching has an emphasis on 'learning by doing'.  During the course you will study a range of methods developing your knowledge and skills.

 

Methods include:

  • Use hand tools to create basic joints and frames

  • Construction Diploma Level 1, 2 and 3
  • NVQ Level 2 and 3 (Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery)
  • Apprenticeship
  • Site Carpenter (employed or self employed)

There are no entry requirements.

Costs

Tuition Fees: £250

 

You will need steel toe capped safety boots or shoes to do this course.
