Targeted at allied trades and people looking for registration with a 'competent persons' scheme, this course teaches the fundamentals of domestic electrical installation.
This course is designed to give you a background in domestic electrical installation. The course starts with the Building Regulations (Part P) and the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and culminates in the design and installation followed by the inspection and testing of domestic installations.
Successful achievement of this course can be used as evidence of competence when applying to a 'competent persons' scheme such as NAPIT, ELECSA or the NICEIC.
The course involves a combination of distance, classroom and workshop learning. Achievement will be measured by the successful completion of all practical projects, 8 internal multi-choice assessments and 1 external multi-choice assessment.
You will require steel toe capped work boots to complete this course.
Upon completion you will be eligible to join a government-backed 'competent persons' scheme (usually in conjunction with a valid 17th Edition qualification). Please check with scheme providers for their individual requirements.
Upon receipt, you will either be invited to interview or contacted by a member of the course team to discuss your application.
