An Advanced Diploma is equivalent in size and value to three and a half A Levels. Over the past decade, Britain’s creative industries have grown at twice the rate of the economy as a whole and are continuing to grow.
The Creative and Media Diploma will equip you with the essential creative skills, knowledge and understanding to further your aspirations within the creative industries and higher education.
The Principal Learning comprises of six units of study:
• Capture
• Show
• Interaction
• Commission
• Evaluation
• Investigation
You will work on a number of projects which allow you to develop your ideas and creative skills. You could, for example, design a computer game and pitch your ideas to a computer games company. You could learn how to write the storyline and draw storyboards and how to present your ideas in writing and in person. You could also develop the music and animation of your game.
Or you could work with a local theatre and learn how they develop a new production.
This will include how they finance and publicise it, working on the rehearsal process, costumes, set design, lighting and sound set-ups.
The activities you will take part in have been designed to develop your personal learning and thinking skills (PLTS) and the Functional Skills of Maths, English and IT at Level 2. The whole Diploma package will include an additional Level 3 course.
Work experience
As part of the course you are required to complete ten days work experience, which
will include working to live client briefs.
You will be taught by a team of dedicated professionals many of whom are specialist artists and designers in their own right. Project assignments will have a contextualised focus, referenced to real scenarios.
With an Advanced Diploma you will be able to progress into employment or on to a degree, helping you towards a number of career options related to the creative industries.

Successful completion of a Level 2 Diploma or 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above. We always interview everyone and you will be invited to bring some examples of your work.
