This course will give you a good introduction to the engineering industry and will help you to be accepted onto higher level engineering courses.
It covers a variety of related units including:
• Workshop practices
• Electronics
• Engineering science and mathematics
• Engineering drawing
Students will be expected to attend lectures and workshops. An individual study and research unit will allow you to develop research skills in an area of interest to you.
A variety of teaching and learning methods will be used including computer-based projects, case studies, tutorials and classroom sessions. You will be taught through practical and theory lessons.
Further study onto our National Diploma in Engineering Design and Technology, National Diploma Engineering, Communications Technology or Advanced Engineering Diploma. Alternatively you could find employment perhaps as an apprentice or find work in aeronautical engineering, communications engineering, design technology and computing or design and manufacture.
Four GCSEs at grade C to E. Alternative qualifications will be considered.
