Description

This course offers a fresh start to all students wishing to improve their GCSE maths to grade C or above.  The full syllabus includes algebra, arithmetic, geometry, graphical representation, money management, statistics and trigonometry. You can study at higher or foundation level. A GSCE grade C in Mathematics is a minimum qualification for careers in teaching, banking, accountancy, engineering etc and is essential for entry to many Higher Education Courses.

Teaching and Assessment

The course is examined in 3 modules - Data Handling; Numbers and Algebra; and all aspects of Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry.

Entry Requirements

Students should have achieved maths GCSE at grade E or above and / or a have good grounding in basic arithmetic.  The latter can can be obtained by attending the Open Learning Workshop at the College and achieving at least a pass in Levels 1 or 2 Numeracy.
