Who is this course for?

The Higher Diploma is equivalent to 7 Higher GCSEs at A*-C grades. The Hospitality Higher Diploma will give you a mix of general education, job specific theory, background knowledge and selected practical experience related to the hospitality sector. The Diploma is a great new way of combining class work with hands-on experience. It allows lots of opportunity to come into contact with people who are employed in this industry. Students will learn how to work with other people and express themselves confidently in a work environment by developing personal, learning and thinking skills.

Description

This Diploma is designed to enable learners to develop their own knowledge and skills relating to the hospitality sector.

There are four main themes:

  • The hospitality industry - which studies the basics of the sector and what impact the hospitality industry has on the UK economy.
  • Business and finance in hospitality.
  • People in hospitality - which studies the importance of people, not only to the success of business but working with colleagues.
  • Hospitality operations explores how food and beverages are prepared and served to customers, foods from different cultures and the principles of healthy eating.
