This course is ideal for junior managers and supervisors.
The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 3 Award in First Line Management will enable both new and experienced first line managers to become more confident and effective in their roles by developing their management skills and knowledge.
The Award is a concise qualification which gives an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required by today's first line manager. The mandatory unit 'Solving problems and making decisions' is designed to develop practical techniques for tackling managerial problems and making decisions from gathering and interpreting information through to the effective communication of outcomes.
Candidates must complete one mandatory unit and then select a combination of optional units to a total credit value of at least 3 to achieve the Award.

It may be possible to take other optional units, but this will need to be discussed with the Business team.
The mandatory unit is assessed through work-based assignment. Assessment for optional units is dependant on the options chosen, but may include; work-based assignments, reflective reviews, knowledge reviews, oral presentations, role play / scenarios, written reports.
From the Award, it is possible to progress on to the Certificate in First Line Management.
There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be practising or aspiring first line managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme.
The cost for taking the Award is £525, there is an additional £73 ILM registration fee.
