The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 5 Certificate in Management has been specifically designed to give practising or aspiring middle managers a solid foundation in their formal development in this role.
The Award is a concise qualification designed to develop middle management skills and knowledge. The mandatory unit examines organisational structurre and function, the roles and responsibilities of middle managers and the effect of communication and interpersonal skills on managerial performance. The final element of the unit explores the evaluation of personal development opportunities.
The Award consists of one mandatory unit with a credit value of 4, and then learners will choose optional units with a minimum credit value of 6.

It may be possible to take other optional units, but this will need to be discussed with the Business team.
Mandatory unit is assessed through work-based assignment. Assessment for optional units is dependant on the options chosen, but may include; work-based assignments, reflective reviews, written reports.
From the Award, learners can progress onto the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Management
There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be practising or aspiring middle managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme.
The Award costs £650, there is an additional £75 ILM registration fee.
