Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for people currently working in a business management role who want to further their knowledge and understanding of leadership and management.

Description

Although you will enrol on the Diploma programme, you will work progress through the three levels (Award Certificate and Diploma) as it is a cumulative qualification based on credit points which are awarded for completed units.  To achieve the Award you will need 10 credits, for the Certificate you will need 20 credits and for the Diploma you will need a minimum of 60 credits.

In order to achieve the Diploma, you will need to complete the following mandatory units;

• Developing strategic management and leadership skills (credit value 10)
• Professional development for strategic managers (credit value 5)
• Strategic change management (credit value 10)

In addition, you will need to choose a minimum of 35 credits from the following optional units;

• Creative and innovative management (credit value 10)
• strategic marketing management (credit value 10)
• strategic human resource management (credit value 10)
• strategic planning (credit value 15)
• managing financial principles and techniques (credit value 15)
• research project (credit value 15)

Career Opportunities

This is a postgraduate qualification in its own right, but it can also be used as a stepping stone to studying further towards a Masters degree.  There is an agreed higher education academic pathway from this course onto the MBA course with Plymouth University or the MSc in Leadership and Management with University of Portsmouth.

Entry Requirements

In order to take this course, you will need considerable experience in a business management role.  You are likely to have at least 5 years relevant experience.
