Description

The following subjects will be covered: Communication Skills, Development, Healthy Eating, Keeping Safe, Learning Experiences, Physical Experiences, Creative Activities, Group Project, Books & Poems.

Teaching and Assessment

Assessment is through assignment work, role play, individual and group presentations and projects. Practical assignments will also be set. You will be taught using a range of teaching styles supported by excellent IT and learning resources.

Career Opportunities

You could find employment in the Early Years sector or stay on at Somerset College and progress onto the Level 2 Diploma Child Care Learning & Development or Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care.

Entry Requirements

You will need 3 GCSEs at grade F or above including English Language. Students must be between 16-19 years old.

A CRB check is required.

All students applying for this course will be legally required to register with the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) which is administered by the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). The ISA has been established as a single agency to monitor all individuals who want to work or volunteer with vulnerable people. From the 6th of April 2011the fee for an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check will be £44. The College will send further instructions on applying for your CRB as part of the admissions process.
