The role of a painter and decorator can be a lot more involved that simply decorating the room of a house. Work can be carried out indoors or outdoors using a wide range of products and methods to cover various surfaces and structures, for applying gold leaf to an ornate fixture to putting a heavy-duty coating on an oil rig!
The Level 3 Construction Diploma allows you to further develop your skills and knowledge, enabling you to work to an advanced level in your chosen industry.
To be a qualified tradesperson you will need to complete the NVQ Level 2 and 3 in your chosen trade. The NVQ is a work-orientated qualification which requires you to build a portfolio of evidence; therefore, you should be suitably employed in a related role.

An equipment list will be sent out prior to the course starting. Basic equipment will include steel toe capped safety boots or shoes and white overalls. This course is subject to a vocational resource fee which is payable upon enrolment. Occasionally you may be offered the opportunity to take part in an educational visit for which a contribution may be required.
