Who is this course for?

The role of a Plumber is highly varied, ranging from routine servicing or emergency repairs to installing or decommissioning different systems, for example heating or sanitary.  Attention to detail is important as is the ability to use basic maths, volumes and measurements.

Description

If you are over 19 years and have little or no previous experience in this trade, this technical certificate will give you the underpinning knowledge required to develop a wide range of skills including installation, commissioning and maintenance. This qualification is also available as a day release course - please see the appropriate leaflet for more information.

To be a qualified tradesperson you will need to complete the NVQ Level 2/3 in your chosen trade.  If you have 5 years previous experience in the plumbing industry you may be eligible to enrol direct onto the NVQ.  The NVQ is a work-oriented qualification which requires you to build a portfolio of evidence; therefore, you should be suitably employed in a related role.

If you are under 23 years and have relevant employment, you could follow the apprenticeship route - please see the appropriate leaflet for more information.
