This course is ideal if you enjoy making people feel better about themselves and would like to work with the public. You will become a fully qualified beautician and be able work within this popular industry.
Practical Skills will include:
• Make-up consultation and application
• Wax depilation - temporary removal of body hair
• Skin analysis, facial massage and facial treatments
• Nail analysis and treatment - manicure and pedicure
• Eyelash, brow colour and shaping
Other aspects of this course include:
• Background theory related to practical skills
• Anatomy and physiology
• Promoting products and services
• Health and safety
• Reception duties and client care and communication skills
You will be taught mainly through practical lessons working on each other and clients in a professional salon environment. You will be continuously assessed through multiple choice online questions and practical assessments. Supporting theory lessons, tutorials and educational visits are also part of the course.

To develop your skills and knowledge further, you could progress onto the VRQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy, alternatively, you could seek employment in a beauty clinic or cosmetic retail house.
4 GCSEs at grade A* to C, including English and a Science, together with a satisfactory school report and show a desire to work in the beauty industry at interview.
