  • Course Description

    This course aims to provide students with a higher education foundation in mechatronics with a work-based context. It links modules in electrical/electronic engineering and mechanical engineering to create a broad basis for further career development.

    The course is completed via a combination of lectures and laboratory sessions, where students will complete project work, written reports and examinations. Your studies will be conducted in our Energy Skills Centre at the main Bath Road Campus of Bridgwater & Taunton College.

  • Progression Opportunities

    Direct entry on to Year 3 of the University of the West of England's BEng(Hons) Electronic Engineering. The course represents an ideal foundation towards progression into a professional engineering role.

    Mechatronics engineers are required in a wide variety of industries from defence, automotive and aerospace to manufacturing and nuclear decommissioning. 

  • Entry Requirements

    102 UCAS points including A Level Mathematics or a suitable BTEC course including a strong mathematical element.
