Students who sing better than Diana Vickers from the X Factor, take a mean photograph or make gorgeous cupcakes are being encouraged to show-off their talent by Somerset College.
There are many talented students at Somerset College, now young people from around the county have the opportunity to showcase their own skills on social media sites and win a prize.
Students, who are under 17, can upload videos or images of their talent to social network sites Bebo or Facebook and win Zavvi vouchers for the best one.
Cheryl Barker, FE Marketing Manager at Somerset College, said: ‘This is a chance for students to show off their talents to the world and see what other students are doing. At Somerset College we have swimmers tipped for glory in 2012, former students who are fire breathers, and a young artist who has sold artwork for more than £4,000 straight after leaving College.
‘We have a special environment here where each student is nurtured and supported to bring out their full potential.'
Students can start courses at the College as part of their studies from the age of 14 and stay all the way through to University level programmes.
Cheryl said: ‘We are in an enviable position where we can inspire and watch students develop over a number of years. Through the encouragement of highly trained lecturers we are able to draw out the potential of our students and see many of them move onto excellent jobs or university courses.'
Students are able to upload images and videos of their talents to Bebo or Facebook depending on which site they are registered to.
The closing date for entries is 31 December 2008, and the talented winner will be notified in January 2009 and receive the £50 of Zavvi vouchers.
