Collar Yourself Some Art

Artwork by Somerset College Fine Art students, graduates, lecturers and other artists will go under the hammer on 3 March to start the process towards creating an exciting exhibition in what will be a new creative industries hub in Taunton.

3 March at 10am Greenslade Taylor Hunt Auctioneers will be hosting a Fine Art auction in the Priory Saleroom, Winchester Street, Taunton, to raise funds for the College Art Exhibition in May at The Old Collar Factory, 112 St Augustine Street.

Renovation on The Old Collar Factory to become a new creative industries hub will begin after the Exhibition.

The Auction makes up part of the professional practice that the students need and will help raise funds towards the cost of staging their Exhibition.

Entitled, ‘Multi Collared’, the year-end Art Exhibition will run from 13 to 19 May at the Old Collar Factory with all the art available for sale.

The Auction items can be viewed in person on 2 March from 9-5pm or online at www.gth.net ‘antiques saleroom’ about one week before the Auction.

‘This is a great opportunity for anyone to own a piece of original art by professional artists,’ said Stuart Rosamond, Head of Fine Arts at the College.

‘Somerset College is proud to be helping kick start the renovations at The Old Collar Factory which we see as a place for our graduates to showcase the excellence of their work now and into the years ahead.’
