Designer Sophie launches in style

A young designer whose clothes led the graduates’ catwalk at the recent national Clothes Show Live, has launched a new business in Street.

It follows an exciting year which saw Sophie Travella, 22, of High Street, Street, graduate from her BA (Hons) Fashion course at Somerset College, Taunton, with a high flying catwalk show in London – as well as being selected to show her designs at the prestigious Clothes Show Live at Birmingham’s NEC.

Now Sophie, who has always loved fashion, has launched her business at 56 West End, Street, and is all set to provide unique designs in bespoke women’s wear.

Her shop PlatformOne_Sophia’sStyle, not only features designs she has already made but also houses a wide range of fabrics, so that customers can choose materials and styles to be individually created for them.

“I’ve always been interested in fashion and it’s a wonderful opportunity to start my own business,” said Sophie, who grew up in Street and went to Crispin School.

“I absolutely loved every minute of my fashion course and the tutors were very supportive; the whole experience of the Clothes Show and seeing my designs on the catwalk was wonderful,” she said.
