New ECO Bag Designed for BIBIC by College Design Team
Somerset College Fashion Textiles Design students and staff have recently designed an eco bag (pictured) that will be available at Clarke’s Village in Street and the College Reprographics department. The minimum donation will be £2.50 per bag, and all proceeds go to BIBIC.
The bag was designed by Rachel Skeet – the Fashion Textiles department’s Technical Demonstrator, Imelda Hughes – Head of Degree Programmes in Fashion and Textiles and some of the Fashion Textiles students.
Imelda says: ‘ We are delighted to have started this relationship with BIBIC and we already have plans for a further two design projects for them. These ‘live’ projects provide a great opportunity for our students to use their creativity and design skills for a really good cause. It’s great that in this instance we can be involved with a project that promotes BIBIC and at the same time reduces the use of plastic carrier bags!’
BIBIC is a national charity offering practical help to families caring for children with conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, developmental delay, traumatic and acquired brain injury and specific learning difficulties such as attention deficits hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia and dyspraxia.
