Students studying their first year of a National Diploma in Public Services at Somerset College took advantage of an exciting opportunity to meet a senior minister last week.
On the 5th February David Milliband, Foreign Secretary, visited Taunton for an exclusive public interview focusing on the war in Afghanistan. The Foreign Secretary spoke for a short while about the reasons for our involvement and then spent a considerable amount of time answering questions from the audience.
The trip was organised by Andrew Heap (Customer Service Manager) and Jemma Small (Public Services Lecturer).
Jemma was impressed by the event and says "It was a great opportunity for our Public Services students to meet face to face with an influential person who makes decisions that could affect their future careers."
The photograph shows the students with David Milliband.
