Somerset College students to exhibit at home

Following successful exhibitions in London and Devon graduating Arts and Design students from Somerset College will be exhibiting their work at the annual summer show open to the public between Saturday 21 and Thursday 26 June.

The Arts and Design Summer Show consists of the College's 16 - 19 year old Diploma students and Foundation and BA (Hons) Degree graduating students within the fields of Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles, Fashion, 3D, Interior Design and Media Make-up.

Students have recently returned from successful shows at London Graduate Fashion Week, Appledore Arts Festival and the Tacchi Morris Theatre.

Head of Division of Arts and Design at Somerset College, Chris Taylor, said: ‘This event does not mark the end but rather the middle point of the exhibition circuit as Fine Arts will also be exhibiting at the Paintworks Gallery in Bristol, Textiles at the New Designers Exhibition in London and Graphics at the Design & Art Directors exhibition and also the Airs Gallery in London.

‘The exhibitions are designed to promote the skills and creativity of our students to the creative industries by showcasing the work of over 150 graduating students and 150 diploma students all under one roof. It is a must visit for anyone thinking of a career in art and design and for design companies seeking new talent for their business'.

During all the events visitors will be able to see graduating students' work and talk with designers and artists of the future as they begin to launch their careers into the arts and design world.

The show will be open on Saturday 21 June from 10am until 2pm, and from Monday 23 - Thursday 26 June 10am until 4pm. The show is closed Sunday 22 June.
