Students film dangerous driving advert
An advert to promote safe driving among young people was filmed and photographed by students at Somerset College this week.
The multi-disciplinary project involved the creation of a mock crash site on Heron Drive in Taunton, with students at the College playing various roles.
Students played the parts of those involved in the accident, and their contemporaries in Media Make-up ensured their injuries look lifelike.
Meanwhile, Somerset College’s Norwegian Media Group and Year 1 BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design/Photography and Interactive Media students filmed and photographed the scene, in order to create an advert that can be used to educate their fellow students about the dangers of reckless driving.
Local ambulance and fire crews took part in the project, and were on-hand to lend authenticity to the event.
The advert will go live on www.somerset.ac.uk in the summer.
