It was a taste of things to come when school students from Taunton to Bridgwater, Wellington to Minehead, celebrated their achievements recently at a Twilight Club event at Somerset College, Taunton.
The Twilight Club was specially set up so students in Years 9, 10 and 11 could try out courses they want to know more about, and over 50 students attended during six weeks to find out about everything from engineering to art, cookery to computing.
The Club, now about to run again for a third time, ended with a celebration evening including parents, and achievement certificates were presented by Chris Lacey, Director of Curriculum (Further Education) at the College.
“The Club was a really good way to find out more about the course in Children’s Care,” said Molli Jones, a student at The Castle School, Taunton. “I’d recommend anyone who’s interested to give Twilight Club a try.”
The next Twilight Club will start during May, and students can gain a certificate to add to their National Record of Achievement.
