Teaching and Assessing

We offer the following courses in Teaching and Assessing - please note that the teaching courses listed are only for teaching adults; they don't qualify you for teaching in schools.  Please click on the relevant title for further information:

• Access to Higher Education Diploma: Teaching, Journalism and Humanities
• City & Guilds 7303 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
• City & Guilds 7304 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector
• Certificate in Education (incorporating the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (incorporating the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing

If you are currently working and are looking to become a trained workplace assessor, we also run courses in your place of work to qualify you to become an assessor.  If you are interested in assessor-training, please contact our Business Centre on 01823 366 555 or email enterprise@somerset.ac.uk.

Students who are claiming JSA or ESA should always check with their JCP advisor to ensure they are able to undertake a college programme before enrolling.
