    You will have a rich experience exploring interior textiles, fashion textiles and surface design to evaluate your place in the contemporary design industry. The course is aimed at nurturing students ready to progress onto further study or into the workplace. You will be taught to question the ways in which colour, pattern, image, scale and texture create style and atmosphere.

    Year one is an exciting year full of new opportunities and challenges - it is about having a go, making new work, and learning lots of workshop skills in relation to emerging ideas.

  • Teaching and Assessment

    Most of your time will be spent in our first-rate studios and workshops, although your practical work will be complemented by a programme of visual culture. Assessment is by 100% coursework without exams.

    This course is delivered on-site each week across the academic year.

    The Foundation Degree is a perfect platform for progression onto the BA (Hons) top-up degree. Our graduates have established careers in fields such as textile/interior design, style/trend forecasting and buying.
  • Entry Requirements

    Typically entrants will possess:

    • 64 UCAS points
    • or An equivalent vocational qualification (Extended Diploma – MPP/Diploma – MM)
    • or A Pre-degree Access Diploma
    • GCSE English

    Mature applicants with relevant experience who do not have the stated entry requirements are encouraged to apply

    You will be asked to bring your portfolio to interview.
