This exciting new BA (Hons) top-up takes your learning and skills to a further level allowing your specialist skills to flourish towards the career you want. You will consider the wider cultural context to underpin your studio work and focus on your own personal design statement, culminating in your collection being shown at the End of Year Degree Show. Whether you are coming from a textiles base, fashion base, or perhaps a combined platform, the Top-up allows you to develop a direction in negotiated project briefs, playing to your strengths or developing new an exciting connections in your work. A strong industry and sustainability focus is at the heart of the programme allowing you many opportunities to achieve success in different ways with continuous academic and technical support in state-of-the-art facilities.
In addition to our End of Year Degree Show, students fundraise to showcase their work to industry at events such as Graduate Fashion Week or New Designers in London.

Teaching and Assessment
100% coursework, including practical design solutions and written content exampled through a dissertation or extended essay.
This course is delivered on-site each week with supporting online content across the academic year.
We continue to work with a panel of well-respected people from within the fashion and textiles industry to ensure that our course stays relevant in an ever-changing industry and the support for this new degree course has been very well-received. Previous graduates have had a very good success rate in securing employment upon completion of their studies.
Recent graduates have established varied and exciting careers in fields such as textile design, style forecasting, retail management, design management, buying, trend forecasting and gallery gaining employment with employers including Courtaulds, Abercrombie & Fitch, Sassi Holford, Fat Face, Debenhams, Ashley Isham, Miss Selfridge, Next, New Look, Peacock’s and Vivienne Westwood.
Others have progressed on to postgraduate level studying an MA or PGCE.
Typically entrants will possess:
• Foundation Degree
• Or an HND
• Or an equivalent Level 5 qualification in an appropriate discipline
You will be asked to send a portfolio prior to interview.
