  • Course Description

    The focus of this course is to prepare you for a range of careers within the Performing Arts industry.

    The qualification is designed to enable Performance Arts students to display and evidence their performance skills and knowledge through a series of performance-based assessment tasks. The qualification encourages candidates to be multi-skilled, reflective performers showing professional potential; their performance standard will be comparable in the UK to other qualifications available at Level 4 in the Qualifications and Credit framework or the first year of degree level study.

    Throughout the qualification you may study

    • Advanced Acting (Devising, Voice, Scripted works)
    • Dance Techniques and Advanced Dance Techniques (Technique, Choreography and Repertory)
    • Acting Through Song and Performance Skills.

    You will specialise in a chosen area (acting or dance) and continue to develop your techniques.

    The majority of modules are taught via practical workshops, lectures and seminars by highly experienced lecturers and practitioners.

    On completion of this course you will have the opportunity to apply for other programmes at Performing Arts, Musical Theatre or Dance Schools and Higher Education. You will have also developed a network of contacts that could lead directly to employment.

  • Entry Requirements

    Typically entrants will possess:

    • Equivalent of a Level 3 BTEC or A Level in Dance/Performing Arts

    Individuals with relevant industry experience will also be considered.

    A place on the course is also subject to
    a successful audition and interview.
