Teaching and Assessment
Progress is made by collecting relevant evidence in order to demonstrate your competence against a pre-set range of assessment criteria, governed by the National Occupational Standards. Evidence can take many forms including documents, photographs, video, written reports, witness testimonies or recorded interviews. Evidence signposts are provided by us and these help to decipher the requirements set by the awarding body by giving you specific information. In-house assessment is independently internally verified and externally verified by the Standards Verifier representing the awarding body.
You can move directly to the Professional Review stage of the route to Chartered status of the CIOB, without the need for exams or the CMP course.
It provides the Construction Managers CSCS black card. This qualification increases the possibility of career advancement, enhanced career development opportunities and promotion. Alternatively, you could progress to a related NVQ at a higher education level available at the centre, such as the Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management.
Students need to have relevant experience and be working at, or towards, the appropriate level that allows the collection of evidence required by the awarding body. This will be assessed when interviewed by University Centre Somerset at the outset.
