This course aims to provide students with a higher education foundation in mechatronics with a work-based context. It links modules in electrical/electronic engineering and mechanical engineering to create a broad basis for further career development.
Teaching and Assessment
The course is completed via a combination of lectures and laboratory sessions, where you will complete project work, written reports and examinations. Your studies will be conducted in our Advanced Engineering Centre at the Bridgwater campus.
You could qualify for direct entry on to year 3 of the UWE Bristol’s BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering. The course represents an ideal foundation towards progression into a professional engineering role.
Mechatronics engineers are required in a wide variety of industries from defence, automotive and aerospace to manufacturing and nuclear decommissioning.
Typically entrants will possess:
• A minimum of 120 UCAS points from a full Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
• BTEC Level 3 Further Mathematics is required for applicants holding a BTEC Level 3 Diploma
