Somerset College Fashion Students Create Designs for Pepe Jeans, London
Second year BA Fashion Textiles students from Somerset College have been working on an exciting collaboration with Pepe Jeans, London.
The brief from Pepe Jeans was for the students to customise a T-shirt and a pair of jeans so that their creations might be sold under the “One of 1” brand which consists of one off original designs which are applied to Pepe Jeans. The selected garments are to be sold in Harvey Nichols, London.
Douglas Cordeaux of Pepe Jeans recently visited the students to make a selection and offer feedback. He selected work produced by Yvonne Morton, Katie Benton, Angela Fairbank and Giovanna De Gregorio. Their creations will be sold in their concessions range in Harvey Nichols for Christmas with all profits being donated to the college. He was highly impressed with the work of Giovanna and has offered her a work placement within their Portobello Road studios in London.
The excellent work produced by the students in a very short time has helped with the collaboration and Pepe Jeans will be involved in the next module which involves screen printed fabric
