Staff gear up for Children in Need
Students appeared in pyjamas to zebra outfits for Children in Need day - but staff in one department at Somerset College in Taunton outshone them all and raised over £300 into the bargain.
Almost every staff member in the Construction and Technology division dressed up in amazing finery, with many ideas suggested by their students. They included everything from Yoda in Star Wars to a pirate, witch and French maid (and that was a man).
Staff who didn’t dress up were fined and the department raised £320 from these and other colleagues and students.
Many students at the College dressed up in everything from animal outfits to extreme hats and pink pyjamas, while others did car washing and fun activities.
More fundraising is still going on during this week but on Children in Need day the College total raised was nearly £600.
