Everyone in our community (even if you are not currently studying with us) is entitled to free and confidential one-to-one advice and guidance on career and training opportunities.

We can help you:

• Identify and explore your job and career options
• Understand the range of courses and qualifications available
• Prepare your application to university or a job
• Draw up and implement a career action plan

We offer:

• A comprehensive range of computer packages including Kudos and Adult Directions.
• Information on career planning, training opportunities and careers information tailored to your needs.
• Information on seeking employment including help with covering letters, interview techniques, application forms or CVs.
• Information on basic skills training.
• Information on working or studying abroad.
• Job vacancy boards in Student One Stop, the ITS Integrated Learning Centre and on Scoodle (Somerset College students only).
• Undergraduate and postgraduate prospectuses (reference only).
• Advice on retraining or acquiring new skills.
• Signposting to other local or national services.

Higher Education & Careers Guidance Officer

Careers advisers from Connexions-Somerset are also available to help you decide your next step. Connexions is an advice and guidance service aimed at 13-19 year olds. It provides a universal guidance service with extra help and support when you are preparing for the transition to work and adulthood.

We also work closely with Nextstep.
