Assessment

Assessment Methods

Assessment methods include written coursework, professional portfolio development, 150 hours of mandatory teaching practice, observed practice, and a viva (orally discussed assessment). Students will work closely with colleagues and receive peer support. Teaching observations are conducted by course tutors and subject-specialist mentors.

Entry Requirements and Progression

Progression

Completion of the course could lead to full-time or part-time employment in the Further Education and Skills sector. Recent graduates have found work in various Further and Higher Education institutions, such as Bridgwater & Taunton College, and in training roles within the National Health Service.

Entry Requirements

Applicants do not need a bachelor's or master's degree. They should have English and maths qualifications at Level 2 (e.g., GCSE grade 4 or C), a suitable placement and mentor in place before the course starts, and a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in their specialist area. Relevant professional, industrial, or commercial experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications. A Disclosure and Barring Service check, registration with the Independent Safeguarding Authority, and a criminal convictions self-declaration form are also required.

Fees

The course fee is £8650.00* per year of study.
