Leadership and Management for Adult Care Level 5

Course Overview

This qualification covers a range of skills and knowledge relating to leadership and management of adult care services in England, such as: decision making, safeguarding, leading and managing services, service improvement, managing end of life care, governance and regulatory requirements.

You will need to be working in an employed leadership/management role working in the adult care setting, with a desire to develop your knowledge and skills to pursue leadership and management working towards a regsitred role in a service.

You will be using the knowledge you gain through the qualification to develop your workplace skills which will support your portfolio of evidence of effective management and leadership in a service setting, feeding into your professional development.

Units of study/what is involved

To achieve the City & Guilds level 5 diploma in leading and managing an adult care service
(England) you must be achieve a minimum of 90 credits - 79 credits from mandatory units
and a minimum of 11 credits from optional units.

Mandatory units include:

  • Governance and regulatory processes in adult care
  • Understanding business and resource management for adult care
  • Professional supervision in adult care
  • Leading and managing partnerships in adult care
  • Leading and managing comments and complaints
  • Leading the vision of an adult care service/ setting
  • Continuous improvement within the adult care
  • Personal wellbeing for leaders and managers in adult care services

Entry Requirements and Progression

Progression

This qualification allows you to learn, develop and practise the skills and knowledge required for employment and/or career progression in adult care in England. This also includes apprenticeships in social Work, foundation degree programmes and teaching, learning and assessment qualifications.

Entry Requirements

  • L2 or equivalent in English & maths
  • Level 3 qualification in any subject
  • Employed in one of the following roles, working in the health and social care sector (registered manager, assistant manager, deputy manager)

Fees

The course fee is £4670.00* per year of study.
