Nursing Open Evening

This event is aimed at anyone who is interested in beginning their Nursing Degree journey in 2023. Please join us and find out about the training progression routes and pathways available at UCS.

University Centre Somerset's first cohort of Nursing Degree Apprentices are already a year into their training, while we will begin delivering full-time Nursing Degrees at our Taunton campus for the first time this September. These degree programmes are a hugely exciting addition to the existing nurse training offer at our Taunton campus that includes the Nursing T Level for school leavers, and a Nursing & Midwifery Access to HE Diploma for adults. Both programmes are an ideal precursor to the new degrees.

During this Open Evening you will have the opportunity to:

• Find out about the skills agenda in relation to nursing and how UCS and our partners have developed nurse training to meet the needs of the local healthcare sector.
• Hear from the NHS about what to expect from each training pathway and how the placements work.
• Understand more about what training at UCS will entail and the routes you can take.
• Tour the training facilities, including the new Clinical Skills & Simulation Suites.
• Meet some of our current Student Nurses and Nurse Educators and ask your questions.
