History, Heritage & Archaeology

In partnership with the University of Plymouth, Strode College offers a fully accredited degree pathway in History, Heritage and Archaeology - beginning with a Foundation Degree and progressing to a full BA (Hons) Top-Up. Taught by expert lecturers and based entirely on campus in Somerset, the programme combines academic study with hands-on experience in archaeology, heritage practice, and historical research, with a strong focus on the rich history of the Wessex region.

History, Heritage & Archaeology

Students explore themes ranging from prehistoric and medieval worlds to contemporary heritage projects, developing critical skills in research, analysis, and interpretation. Learning is coursework-based, with no formal exams, and flexible study options allow for part-time or module-by-module progression.

Graduates go on to careers in education, museums, archaeology, and heritage organisations, or continue their studies at postgraduate level. Whether you’re starting your academic journey or building on prior study, this pathway offers a comprehensive route into the fascinating world of history, heritage, and archaeology.
