University Centre Somerset has taken delivery of some exciting new equipment to enhance learning for students on our sports degree programmes.
The point of collapse treadmill will allow students to safely measure and analyse performance to a degree of accuracy not possible on a normal treadmill. It is understood that not many colleges or universities, certainly in the local area, are able to offer students access to this hi-tech piece of kit.
UCS is also delighted to have grown its offer to potential sports students this year with the introduction of an Applied Sports Science and Coaching BSc Top-up, available to holders of a Foundation degree or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a related subject. This is an ideal progression pathway from the already-established Sports Science with Sports Coaching Education Foundation degree at UCS, enabling students to achieve a full Honours degree in the subject right here in Somerset.
This is also great news for anyone starting their sport journey with BTC at Level 2 or 3 now, as it means they could potentially work their way up through the levels and achieve a degree without having to move away to university.
