University Centre Somerset is delighted to offer a new route into the nuclear industry with the arrival of a full-time degree programme at its Cannington campus.
The BEng (Hons) Engineering with Nuclear degree at the fantastic National College for Nuclear is open for applications now to start studying in September 2022.
The programme will be delivered by University Centre Somerset and validated by UWE Bristol. UCS is one of only three providers in the UK offering the degree as a full-time option. We have the unique benefit of all three stages of nuclear right on our doorstep at Hinkley Point; decommissioning, power generation, and the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK for over 20 years.
Our links with employers such as EDF Energy ensure that the training is relevant to industry and that learners complete the programme with the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the nuclear sector.
The degree is suitable for learners who have completed a relevant Level 3 qualification (A Level, BTEC or equivalent in science/engineering subjects), and are looking to progress in the nuclear sector, or have a passion for applied engineering.
