Student Volunteering Fair: Connecting Students with Opportunities

At University Centre Somerset (UCS), fostering a sense of community and empowering our students to make a positive impact on the world is an important part of our mission. To this end, last week we hosted a Student Volunteering Fair at the UCS Common Room at the Taunton campus.

The event was attended by students from across curriculum areas and campuses. Over 20 voluntary organisations shared information about their volunteering and work placement opportunities, ranging from hedge-laying to fundraising to supporting end-of-life care. Each organisation expressed a desire to collaborate with our staff and students in the future and as we move forward, we are excited to grow our partnerships with them.

Events like the Student Volunteering Fair perfectly align with the UCS Elevate and BTC Advantage community-minded theme, reflecting our commitment to nurturing a spirit of giving back and community engagement.

If you are a student who missed out on attending the fair but are interested in volunteering, please get in touch with Sue Stevens, our HE Student Engagement Officer, on stevenss@btc.ac.uk
