UCS Student Nurses bring in the dough(nuts)

Charity bake sale raises £181.50 for Macmillan.

Cakes, doughnuts and traybakes were just a few of the treats on offer at a nursing Macmillan Coffee morning put on by our Nursing Degree Apprentices. In the Taunton Campus Atrium, they sold their goods to staff and students to raise money for the charity.

Macmillan Coffee Mornings are held across the country every year to raise money to fund Macmillan nurses. After spending just a couple of hours on campus selling their cakes and bakes, the student nurses were able to contribute £181.50 to the charity.

Nurse Educator, Lucy Leighton, said:

'I would like to thank all the students and staff who brought in cakes and donated to Macmillan.'

Congratulations to everyone who was involved and thank you. If you’re interested in hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning or would like to donate, please head to the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ website.
