University Centre Somerset students have access to modern and affordable catering outlets across all three campuses. Each offering value for money menus, regular special offers and deals, and a place to relax and socialise.
Special dietary requirements are also catered for where possible, and we aim to source locally grown and organic produce.
VegWare
Recently, we have introduced a range of VegWare to our food outlets. VegWare is compostable packaging used for all of our: coffee cups, takeaway trays, disposable cutlery, and salad pots. University Centre Somerset has also installed numerous water refill stations in an effort to reduce single use plastic.
Cannington Food Outlets
On Cannington campus, the Main Building Restaurant is open every day of the week, including late opening on weekdays, serving hot meals, light bites and snacks.
The Agricultural Innovation Centre restaurant opens 10am – 2pm, Monday – Friday and has a very rural feel with its pine dresser and long refectory tables. There is also a decking area overlooking fields and pasture where you can dine ‘al fresco’.
The National College for Nuclear (Southern Hub) also houses its own Costa Coffee, serving hot drinks, delicious snacks, and pastries. Open 10am – 3:30pm every weekday.
We also have a purpose-built catering van, called the ‘Jiffy Van’ that visits outreach areas to ensure our students, staff and visitors that are not located close to one of our restaurants are fed. The Jiffy Van serves a large selection of both hot and cold food, homemade cakes, fruit pots, crisps and confectionary.
Cashless Payments
Students can sign up for an account that allows payment at our restaurants using just their University Centre ID card. Contact your tutor to find out more.
