Agricultural Management

At University Centre Somerset, we strive to give students the practical skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the agricultural industry. Our undergraduates have access to some of the most impressive facilities and resources in the region, ensuring that they graduate with real-world experience and feel equipped to take on their roles in the industry with confidence.

Amongst these facilities is our award-winning 180-hectare working 'Rodway Farm', one of the most important dairy units in the region. The farm boasts a high-yielding Holstein herd and state-of-the-art computerised milking parlour that produces an impressive average of 9,500 litres per cow each year. Our success speaks for itself, as we are rated in the top 5% of farms within the Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group.

Rodway Farm is a forerunner in the use of new and emerging technology. As a part of their undergraduate courses, students access to the latest agricultural machinery and equipment on the farm to prepare them for work in the industry.

Our pioneering Agricultural Innovation Centre is another highlight of the programme. Equipped with cutting-edge scientific equipment and resources, the centre allows our students to undertake commercial trials and research work, as well as stay ahead of the latest industry standards.

At the Biosecurity Centre, students are provided with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to learn about the latest disease prevention and control techniques. To learn more, explore our agricultural courses below.
