At University Centre Somerset (UCS), staff continuously engage with research and scholarly activity. In doing so, they stay up-to-date with trends and developments in industry. Working alongside employers and industry, staff drive innovation, while passing on their research, theories, and understanding to students.

UCS’ staff’s research and scholarly activity is a testament to their passion. By staying at the forefront of their disciplines, they enhance teaching and the student experience. Some staff research projects even involve partnering with students, equipping them with valuable research and employability skills for the future.

Education is empowering, practical, and personal

The annual Research and Scholarship Conference, hosted by University Centre Somerset, allows lecturers and educators to showcase the breadth of research across the institution.

The conference provides the UCS community with an opportunity to share good practice, highlight innovations and ongoing developments in their disciplines, and foster collaboration amongst researchers.
