Cannington Campus

Agricultural Innovation Centre

Alongside Rodway Farm, University Centre Somerset Students have access to the Agriculture Innovation Centre (AIC) on-site at Cannington campus. The centre is a first class teaching facility for Agricultural Management students who also have resources and facilities to undertake commercial trial and research work.

At UCS, we work very closely with the industry. Students attend shows and demonstrations and industry representatives come in to deliver training sessions. Students also undertake work experience and complete skills based and supervisory farm duties to add value and enhance employability skills and progression opportunities. We are continually adapting our programmes to meet the continued strong and growing industry demand.

In the Agricultural Innovation Centre, our students are able to spend more time in well-equipped labs and classrooms. Here, they discover more about the science in agriculture, as well as the skills needed to manage and run an agricultural business. Through these lectures, practicals, and seminars, agrilctural students and University Centre Somerset are set to be at the forefront of the cutting-edge future of agriculture.

The AIC is also home to its own restaurant, complete with delicious food, outdoor dining (for the sunnier days), and friendly staff.

We continue to drive forward with our fast growing and dynamic curriculum meeting the needs of the agricultural and land-based industries. We have expertise in all aspects of agriculture and our tutors have strong links with industry.
