University Centre Somerset (UCS) Libraries

Learning Resources Centres/libraries are available at all University Centre Somerset campuses: Bridgwater, Cannington, Strode and Taunton. Areas are set aside for quiet study or group work, with access to networked computers, printing, scanning and photocopying. All students are welcome to use their own devices - wi-fi is available on-site with plug-in points throughout all four libraries.

Resources include books, e-books, journals & magazines, online research databases, and audio-visual materials. These extensive collections can be searched via the online catalogue Heritage and Library SharePoint sites. HE students are offered both group and one-to-one study skills support. They can contact their College library staff for more details.

New HE students have the opportunity to complete our HEADstart programme (Higher Education Academic Development), which will develop the skills required to confidently succeed at university-level studies. These sessions focus on developing students’ research and information evaluation skills, referencing, avoiding plagiarism and academic writing.
